Hearing Screen
Our hearing screen measures hearing sensitivity from 500 to 8000 Hz, taking into account historical noise exposure both during and outside of work. Annual hearing assessments are a key requirement under the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015) where any employees are at risk of noise exposure. Regular and accurate hearing screens are essential to detect any deterioration in hearing and is the gold standard of proof that health and safety practices are functioning. Quality hearing assessments keep your employees safe and directly result in savings on Insurance and ACC levies. Baseline hearing testing is critical in accounting for previous exposure that could otherwise be attributed to your business.
Vision Screen
We carry out a comprehensive vision screen, recording acuity, lateral phoria, vertical phoria, and fusion for both distance and near vision. We can also test colour vision, peripheral vision, low light, and computer distance. Vision screening is a key requirement under the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015) where employees are exposed to hazards that could impact on vision, operating a vehicle for work, or where compromised vision could be a hazard such as in machine operation or electrical work.
Lung function Screen
At Optimize work we are able to complete a comprehensive lung function report. Not only measuring FVC and FEV1, but a full flow volume loop. Lung function testing a key requirement under the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015) in environments where there is exposure to dust or fumes that could impact on lung function. Baseline Lung function testing is critical in accounting for previous exposure that could otherwise be attributed to your business.
Cardiovascular Screen
Our cardiovascular screen measures blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and takes into account family history to generate an overall risk score of cardiovascular event. Cardiovascular disease accounts for up to 33% of preventable death in New Zealand every year according to the Heart Foundation. As many as 1 in 20 adults are living with heart disease having a very real impact on workplace productivity and absenteeism. Workplace health screening is one of the easiest ways to identify and manage cardiovascular risk factors before they become chronic disease.
Anxiety and Depression Screen
We are able to carry out industry standard anxiety and depression screens such as the HADS and DASS scales. Workplace mental health services are becoming more and more commonplace as we get a better understanding of the toll of stress on mental health. We work with specialists to get the best care for your employees.
Functional Movement Screen
We are able to carry out robust movement and functional screening to identify any restrictions your employees may be experiencing and identify potential weakness or imbalance before they become lost time injuries. We can then manage minor issues on site or refer on to specialists to keep your employees at optimal performance.
Drug and Alcohol Screen
We are able to carry out comprehensive drug and alcohol screening testing for THC, Cocaine, Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Benzodiazepines, Opiates and synthetics. Drug use in the workplace is a growing issue, our certified consultants are able to carry out on-site drug and alcohol screening to ensure your workplace remains drug free.
